Kakatiya University was established on 19th August, 1976 to fulfil the aspirations of the Telangana people for higher education. It  is located in the historical city, Warangal, the  erstwhile seat of the Kakatiya rulers.  The founding of the University was in fact a historic event  that heralded a new era in the realms of higher education of this region. The erstwhile Post-Graduate Centre of Osmania University was upgraded and named Kakatiya University.  The University,   began its journey as PG Centre Warangal in 1968 under aegis of Osmania university with only four Departments, viz. Telugu, English, Chemistry and Mathematics.  The  Departments of Physics, Botany, Zoology, Commerce, Public Administration and Economics  were added later. The B. Pharmacy course which was started by Osmania University in 1974 was shifted to KU in 1975.

For our course, we have labs for every subject like biotechnology lab, chemistry lab, bioinformatics lab and computer lab. For our course, a seminar was also conducted for students to overcome stage fear. They teach many interview skills to attend interviews accurately. They also provide excellent library facilities, which include books and newspapers, and there is also a digital library. Our college provides a good canteen, and our college also participated in NCC and NSS. Most of the degree colleges don't consist of hostels, but our college has a hostel facility. Other countries students are also studying in it like African countries. It also conducts many blood donation camps, sports and curriculum activities.

It is not a college, and now it has become deemed to be a university. It consists of more than 1,000 members. In our course, 60% of the students got placed. In our course, the salary offered was Rs. 12,000-25,000 per month. Top recruiting companies were Tech Mahindra, Bharat Biotech, Kaveri Seeds, and many pharmacy companies like Divis, Dr. Reddy's and Aurobindo. Many students got an internship from our course, and nearly 80-85% of the students got an internship in Tech Mahindra and Pharmacy Laboratories. Top roles offered in our course are HR consultant, production unit, R&D, medical coding, medical representative and many others.
